Do you recommend Hytera, Motorola, or Kenwood Intrinsically Safe Two Way Radios? If your Team uses Digital two way radios, Hytera is the way to go. if you're using analog, Kenwood two way radios have the best audio quality. All of our Intrinsically Safe Walkie Talkies are excellent products.
Can we use aftermarket batteries and audio accessories with Intrinsically Safe two way radios? No. The IS Rating is an Insurance Policy which transfers liability to the two way radio manufacturer. When they certify these radios as Intrinsically Safe they do so with accessories attached. Any non-qualified accessory voids the IS Rating. While aftermarket accessories and batteries may be intrinsically safe they are only intrinsically safe when used by themselves, not when attached to a walkie talkie.
I have older two way radios with an Factory Mutual (FM) Intrinsically Safe Certification. Can I use new Intrinsically Safe Two Way Radios alongside older radios? Yes, there is no requirement for you to replace all of your existing Intrinsically Safe two way radios.
