The Motorola RLN6423 was given a new part number by Motorola in 2016 due to changes in the cord design.  The new part number is the Motorola HKLN4604.  As there are no more Motorola RLN6423 available for sale, we ship the Motorola HKLN4604 in its place.  It is the same headset with some improvements in the push to talk mic and the strength and length of the cord.  

Motorola RLN6423 swivel earpiece is the most popular headset we sell for a number of reasons.  This headset features a swivel head which allows you to use it on either ear for comfort.  You can see the Motorola RLN6423 earpiece at Target, Walmart, and Best Buy.  The Motorola RLN6423 swivel earpiece with inline push-to-talk button works with the following Motorola two way radio series, XTN, CLS, RDX, DTR, RM,and AX. The Motorola RLN6423 is also known as: RLN6423A, RLN6423B, RLN6423C, RLN6423D, RLN6423E, and RLN6423F.   

The version of the headset you're using can be determined by the little color sleeve found on the power cord.  The RLN6423A had no sleeve.  The RLN6423B had a blue sleeve, and the RLN6423C has a yellow sleeve.  Each version had other color sleeves.  The headset looks identical but has been modified to increase its durability several times since it was introduced by Motorola. https://www.twowayradiocenter.com only offers the most current version of the Motorola RLN6423.

For the Motorola RLN6423 headset to work correctly with your Motorola two way radio follow the below steps:

1. Your Motorola two way radio must be turned off
2. Firmly connect your Motorola RLN6423C earpiece to the Motorola 2 way radio.  You may feel a double click.  At this point the Motorola RLN6423 headset should not be able to be tugged out easily.
3. Now that the Motorola RLN6423C headset is firmly connected you may turn on your Motorola two-way radio and the earpiece should work correctly.  
4. Now you should be able to listen through your new Motorola RLN6423 earpiece and transmit to other two way radios through the earpiece.
5. Enjoy your new Motorola RLN6423 earbud.
  

Common earpiece issues due to incorrect installation include intermittent operation or the earpiece possibly not operating at all.
